Slow Club is a duo from England, and “Giving Up On Love” is one of their best songs:

Wussy is a great band I just discovered over at Nyc Taper.
Wussy’s 3 best songs are “Maglite,” “Pizza King,” and “Motorcycle” —

“Same Mistakes” by The Echo Friendly is getting a huge boost in plays and popularity since it was in the closing credits of an episode of HBO’s Girls.
Big Deal has a great song called “Chair.”
At first I thought the song would be even better with drums, but the two guitars create a synergistic, inherently percussive quality to “Chair.” Check out a live version of the song and see what you think:
Memoryhouse recently recorded a live session of songs. “Punctum” and “The Kids Were Wrong” are the best.
Memoryhouse plays Sunday (tomorrow night) at the Highline Ballroom.
Gold Motel, the side project of Greta from The Hush Sound, has a bunch of really good songs (last week, ATS wrote about “Leave You in Love” here).
“Perfect in My Mind” is also a strong offering from Gold Motel. The lyrics in the second verse are eerily fitting (or rather perfect) for this upcoming weekend’s Hurricane Irene:
“The flood runs through the canyons in New York City/I know when the hurricane comes, it’s coming for me.”
