After Siedah Garrett wrote the song “Man In The Mirror” with Glen Ballard, she recorded a demo of the song to give to Quincy Jones.
She hoped that Jones would play the song for Michael Jackson, who would hopefully record the song and release it on one of his albums.
Garrett’s plan worked. Here’s her demo:
