Same Title, Different Song

Below are a collection of good songs with the same title — while they may share a title, these songs are definitely different from one another:

“After Hours” (Velvet Underground cover) by Rilo Kiley:

“After Hours” (Acoustic) by Phantom Planet:

“Dance With Me (Tonight)” by The Wonders:

“Dance With Me” by Uh Huh Her:

“Thinking of You” by Hanson:

“Thinking of You” (Acoustic) by Katy Perry:

“Give a Little Love” by Noah and the Whale:

(500) Days of Summer: Karaoke

In the karaoke scene of the film (500) Days of Summer, Joseph Gordon-Levitt performs a snippet of “Here Comes Your Man” by The Pixies:

Funny Band Interviews

At a live concert, stage banter is an important element of the show. Likewise, band interviews should not be boring/dull.

Here are three funny band interviews from YouTube:

1. Uh Huh Her

This is a snippet from an interview from 2008. The interviewer asked the question “Do you have any vices?”

2. Eisley

3. The Like

This is the funniest interview of the three: It’s from 2006. Simon Amstell hosts this British fake/joke radio show, and Z doesn’t seem to be in on the joke.

Update: This video is gone from the internet forever 🙁

Duets: Part 4

1. “California Girls” — Beach Boys Cover by Rooney & Ben Lee

2. “California” — Phantom Planet Cover by Mates of State

3. “End of the Affair” — Johnathan Rice & Jenny Lewis

4. “How Now” — The Jealous Girlfriends

5. “One More Day” — Chauntelle Dupree (Eisley) & Zac Hanson

“Girls Just Want to Have Fun”

Cyndi Lauper’s 1983 song “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” has inspired a lot of covers. After The Show has compiled several different versions of the song:

Miley Cyrus:

The Killers:

Ben Gibbard:

Greg Laswell:

The Ordinary Boys:

Robots in Disguise:

Emily Deschanel on Fox’s Bones:

Musicians of Charm City Cakes

Food Network’s show Ace of Cakes, a reality show about Duff Goldman’s Charm City Cakes, is well-known for its creative cakes and cake decorators.

But this creativity isn’t just limited to cakes — many decorators are also musicians.

1. Here’s executive sous chef Geof Manthorne performing an original acoustic song:

2. Cake decorator Katherine Hill’s band Lexie Mountain Boys has songs on their MySpace, but they’re more comic performance artists than a band.

3. Cake decorator Elena Fox plays bass guitar in her band SQUAAKS. Here’s their MySpace, and a music video for their song “Everything Twice”:

4. Duff plays the bass in his band, …soihadto… Check out their MySpace here.
